In my neighborhood today
Good Morning World! It’s another beautiful sunny day in my neighborhood and I am grateful for that. I will be spending my day on Grandma Duty again, Mindy has another Doctors appointment. Sweetie topped a tree last night so Andy will be helping his “paw” pick up sticks and get them in the wagon. I am grateful that I don’t have to do it by myself! Our yard is finally starting to shape up. The tulips may open today. The magnolia is in full bloom and the redbuds are beautiful. Just a few more days of wonderful weather and the lilacs will burst open. I thought I would share a picture of one of the stray cats I fed all winter….I think he is grateful for spring as well!
Doesn’t he look all comfy, basking in the sun? I loved that he layed next to the little wooden bird. LOL. Did anybody hear about our earthquake this morning? At 5:37 am we had a 5.4 earthquake. I slept through it. Sweetie did not. He said he felt the bed shaking. The candles in my candle holders were all knocked over, but that was the extent of our damage. One neighbor called and said she didn’t know what was going on, she thought maybe someone was trying to break in or the furnace had exploded. You just don’t expect earthquakes in Indiana. I am Thankful we have no damage to report.
I got this lovely award from Miller Manor who is celebrating her Blogoversary! Go by and wish her a happy one. She ia also planning a big giveaway, don’t miss out! I just want to say Thank You for a beautiful comment award, just too thoughtful!

An earthquake???? OMG! I am grateful that you are alright. Wow.
I absolutely love lilacs…sniff them for me…every chance you get.
Hugs…Phyl
~~An Earthquake and many aftershocks at this point. I will sniff the lilacs as soon as they open! Hugs!……………Mo~~
Your stray looks just like our cat, Luna! Sounds like you are really enjoying this spring weather…..

~~We are all enjoying our beautiful weather!….even the cats!…………Mo~~
I almost did not see the cat.I love the photo. I was working the the Justice center as a corrections officer when we felt a quake that was out in lake Erie, our building was shakeing a little and one of my fellow officers said what’s that? I said there is a minor earthquake some where near here and we are feeling it.
~~I am glad you liked the photo. Earthquakes are very scary, I am glad I slept through it!…………Mo~~
Oh how I wish I was in your part of the state. We are having great weather, but no red bud or magnolia trees budding. My Hubby said He felt the earth quake up here but I did not. I have felts them up here, but it has been a while. I love the picture. Your black cat must enjoy the smell of those flowers. Thanks for the kind words today. Take care and have a great weekend.
Love and Hugs,
Joyce
~~Hi Joyce!! We are in full bloom this week. The tulips started opening yesterday. Hang on it won’t be long til the color reaches you! Hugs!…..Mo~~
Yes, I heard about the earthquake. As a matter of fact, our son-in-law felt it. He said the bed shook. Also, some friends at my yoga class yesterday said they felt their beds shake. They all clocked it right at 4:30 AM. I am grateful you all didn’t have any damage.
~~Hi Betty! The earthquake hit at 5:37 eastern time, so I am sure they did feel it. I am grateful we didn’t have damage too! Hugs!………….Mo~~
Your ’stray’ looks a lot like Ms. Kitty who adopted me about a decade ago. I wonder what it is with black cats? LOL
I’m happy Spring has finally arrived for you. The flowers are lovely … I’m relieved you had no ‘earthquake’ damage. We get them all the time in So Cal but this one certainly took the midwest by surprise didn’t it!
I left a bit of ‘linky-love’ in my Haiku posts Friday (mentioned Gratitude Journal and Greatful Gals at Sacred Ruminations) so you may be getting some new visitors. Today (like you) I’ve left linky-love for Ornery’s wife at Sacred Ruminations.
I’m glad all’s going well and hope you continue to have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs and blessings,
~~There is something about black cats for sure. There are two of them here, just alike, both misters. The midwest rocked! and it was a surprise for sure. Thanks for the linky love, you are such a dear heart! My weekend was wonderful………….HUGS!……….Mo~~

We are having some nice weather too. Sounds like black cats are usually “Walk ONs”. Our neighbors have a walk on black cat named Ms. Kitty and sometimes called Kitty Girl. Have you named yours yet since you have been feeding it all winter?
Maybe the cat was taking a good look at the wooden bird so he would be able to recognize the real thing.
As for the quake, in my muddled state of waking up I thought it was an unusual loud thunder but Prince stated very non chalant that “its an earthquake”. Just how he knew. He said when the bi fold closet doors rattle it is an earthquake. Only time the doors will make a noise.
Peace
~~Hi Dianne, I just love these kittys and I am not the usual cat lover. They look so much alike that we have never named them but I think they are going to stay so I will add that to my list of things to do….lol…(They have eaten their share of birds) The earthquake was quite a surprise to us all. Have a great day! Hugs!………………….Mo~~
Your flowers look so lovely! It has been nice here and ours are just beginning to peak out of the ground. I woke up at 5:45, 15 minutes before my alarm and wondered why I woke up early. I still do not know for sure if it was the earthquake (we had many reports here as well) that woke me or if it was just a coincidence.
~~Hi Crricket! I bet it was the quake that woke you. I hope your gardens are in bloom soon, it sure makes you feel happy to see all the color! Hugs!…………….Mo~~
Grandma duty is good and I love the cat. Bless you for taking care of him all winter. I would do the same. Congratulations on your award. Have a great day.
~~Hi Sandee! The cat is great, very shy of people, but great just the same. Have a terrific week! HUGS!…………Mo~~
Now THAT is one outstanding photo. It couldn’t BE more PURRfect in my book.
~~Hi Anni…..PURRfect is right! You crack me up! I do know how you love the kittys! Have a grand day!! Hugs!……………….Mo~~
