The kitchen, the cows and a holiday
Well…we are off on another big project around here. Sweetie and I went shopping for a new kitchen yesterday. Now we are not about to sink thousands of dollars into a brand new kitchen but a few hundred will give us a new to us make over. We bought new countertop yesterday and picked out a new sink and faucet. The countertop was on sale and we had to make a trip north to get what we wanted but we were able to get a 10 foot and a 6 foot top for less than $100. WoooHooo! We will wait for the other things to go on sale and by summer we will be on our way to a kitchen makeover. I have been busy cleaning out the cupboards and drawers. We are going to move the dishwasher. I really considered just getting rid of it, I always wash my dishes by hand and I enjoy doing it that way. I do so much canning that I do need the dishwasher for sterilizing jars, so I am just going to keep it and relocate it. I am excited to start what we are calling phase1 of the makeover. Who doesn’t want a “new” kitchen. I am Thankful today that we are both creative people and are able to do it all our selves.
Still more rain and flooding around here. At least we had the sun for one day! Sweetie just popped in to let me know the dreaded cows were back in the neighbors yard…UGH! They are so destructive. These sneaky cows know they are not supposed to be up here…but the pompass grass is just soooo good! Sweetie went over and yelled at them again and off they go running the whole way home! It’s spring break…. I wonder how a country video would go, “COW girls gone wild!”…LOL…prancing around naked showing their udders to everyone, they are out of control!!! Such is life in the backwoods.
JOKE OF THE DAY
In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holidays He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared, ‘Case dismissed!’
The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, ‘Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah…yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!’
The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, ‘Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists’ holiday!’
The lawyer pompously said, ‘Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?’
The judge said, ‘Well it comes every year on exactly the same date—April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as ‘April Fools Day,’ consider that Psalm 14:1 states, ‘The fool says in his heart, there is no God.’ Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture , he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday! Now have a good day and get out of my courtroom!! ……..Amen!
Have a great day everyone!

Good luck with the ‘remodel’ … I’ve been listening to a friend as they’ve had extensive work done at their house ;–)
Our ‘drizzles’ seem to have stopped for the time being, but we’ve gone more rain predicted all week. Sure hope the flooding and ‘cows’ don’t do too much damage.
Thanks for the chuckles. I love laughter almost as much as gratitude.
Hugs and blessings,
~We have rain again all week as well. sigh. Glad you enjoyed the humor!….Mo
Yay on the redo of your kitchen. Pictures please when you are done. How fun to plan everything.
I love the joke. I thought it was going to be April 15th though. Have a great day.
~It will be a while but pictures for sure! Glad you liked the joke……Mo
I love this post…lol. And your joke of the day is getting sent to all on my friends.
Hugs~
~Hugs to you! Happy you enjoyed the joke!……..Mo
Hello Friend, I am on a different computer. Your joke is right on. Sorry about the cows. Hubby has had to run sows that have gotten out to find green grass. Good luck on your kitchen makeover. You will have to take before and after pictures. Sorry about the water. We were down in your area last week and was glad we did not have to make any detours. We are getting rain now and for the rest of the week.
Love and Hugs,
Joyce
~Hi Friend, Yep I am tired of all the rain and high water. So anxious for spring weather…..Mo
It is always exciting doing a room over - and yes it does not have to be a complete floor to ceiling makeover to be new! What a super price on counter tops. I was just looking at counter tops for the rental property next door - and I didn’t find a deal like that. LOL You have cows and we have deers. We had so many deers in the back field yesterday, I stopped counting at 30 because they kept moving around. What a sight! I am truly grateful to have the convenience of living in town while having the country in my backyard.
~Hey girl…we have done many rooms in our day, haven’t we? Oh life in the backwoods, I have had dogs the last couple of days…two coon hounds have located the cat food…LOL…………..Mo
take photos and share them when you are done! Yes that is the national holiday for the athiests. God bless them. That is what is so great to say something that so true to all of us that believe that God does exist and man is She pissed at some of the silly things we mere humans do.
~Hi Mike, yes I will take some photos before and after. Glad you liked the joke!….Mo
So much to do for you this year! And the makeover sounds like work………but in all, a great deal of fun too!! Good luck.
Love the story….and that’s NO joke!
Oh, and by the way…..take a GOOD look at that photo of the rose. I see a chicken. Even her eye sparkles. What an amazing rose….chicken! Call me weird. LOL
Come over if you can, celebrate one special April Fool that I have….a birthday celebration. Yep, my fool born on this day 39 years ago.
~A CHICKEN????…..yep I see it! I love that you see things others just miss, it’s that creative mind of yours. Happy Birthday to your Daughter (I loved the story of the $1000 bet) hugs!…….Mo
I need some new kitchen counters, but I don’t think I’ll ever find any for $100.00 I am sure you will love your new kitchen.
~ I am very excited about a “new” kitchen! I did not think we would find any at that price either but….we did and I am grateful! Hugs!…..Mo
You kitchen is going to be AWESOME! Please take before and after photos so we can celebrate with you when the project is over. Hubby and I are also wanting to renovate our kitchen, but we need new cupboards so our project is going to take time. We will save for it and pay cash for everything and will appreciate it when it is complete.
Thanks for commenting on my autism post. Tonight I’m going to post about Brandon’s Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and also about what we feel is the connection to his one-year vaccination. That vaccination is becoming known as the “autism needle.”
Loved your April Fool’s joke and the graphic.
Blessings,
Mary
~Hi Mary…I think planning and saving for it is half the fun! It is much easier to enjoy if you are not worried about paying for it! I am really learning a lot about autism and other disorders from your writing, I appreciate that, Thanks…………Mo
