Fend for Yourself
Hey Everyone! Just a few notes today. Sweetie got home last night and we spent a wonderful evening talking about our week. It is amazing how much we don’t get covered in the hour we spend on the phone every night. It is so good to have him home! We are hoping to leave for Arizona by Thursday so we created a “list of things to do”….it just keeps getting longer and longer! I have an afghan for share a square that I would like to get finished and mailed before we go. Then there is the problem of the animals we feed. We feed the birds here every day, they have become dependant on it. They stay all winter because we do this. With snow on the ground we can’t just stop….so I need to find someone to take care of them. There is also the matter of the stray cats who have moved into our woodshed. I do give them a bowl of food everyday too. I just hate to not have them fed. If it were summer I wouldn’t worry about it. I hate to have these creatures who depend on me fending for themselves.
It reminds me of how God takes care of us. These animals know that we are going to provide for them everyday, so they stay close by. They take no thought for the weather turning colder and all the problems that brings for them. They just show up every day. Kind of like us. When we are faithful to show up everyday, God provides for us. We don’t have to worry…He cares for us. Matthew 6:25-34. “….take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on….” What a promise! You see I have in a way made the same promise to my little friends, just by being there and taking care of them. Imagine how we would feel if God took a vacation and let us all just fend for ourselves. I am Thankful today for the promise of God, For His faithfulness to supply all of our need. Philippians 4:6….”Be careful (worried) for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God.”…………..Have a Great weekend Gals!

I enjoyed reading your post for today, Maureen. I am sure going to miss you while you are on vacation. Don’t you have a laptop you can take along? I have to make a list, too, when we are preparing to go on a trip. If I didn’t, I would forget something for sure.
We feed the birds, too. Last year we only saw those really small birds, dark in color with a white streak down the back. This year we are seeing all kind of red birds and Woodpeckers. Oh, we saw the same woodpecker all last winter. I almost forgot about him.
Ahhhh - one of my all-time favorite scriptures. Thx for that. And Arizona? Where you going?
Now, come on over when you can. I’ve tagged you for a meme. Play if you like. Here it is:

Glad to hear you’re having a great weekend!
Praise the Lord, I nerver thought of the feeding of animals and birds in that maner. God does take care of us no matter what. We fieed 4 cats and probably 100 head of hogs. Well Hubby feeds the pigs and I feed the cats. If we feed birds they would just be taken by the cats. Have a great vacation and take alot of pictures for us.
Love and Hugs,
Joyce
Today I am grateful for…being back home safe and sound. Getting to spend 2 days with my ’sailor’. All of my computer friends!

Very insightful analogy. I am very thankful today for such a fun weekend. I spent Friday evening stumbling through blogs, then Saturday with my son’s family. Torrey’s team lost their basketball game but I so love to watch he play. Colton and I worked on his science fair project for five hours. Then Caleb came home with me. Dad was happy when we walked in together. He enjoys Caleb spending the night. Thanks for the tag. I had fun answering the questions and selecting who to make “it”. Blessings, Cricket
I have a gift-or 3-for you!

Ohhhhhhhhhh, how exciting. Right now, I would love to venture back to Arizona with you. It IS a beautiful countryside in the Spring with all the wildflowers in abundance. Where’ya’ll going? What’s on your list of things to do?
Have fun, and have a safe trip.
[I LOVE how you are concerned for the feathered friends and your ’stray’ kitties!!! That’s so sweet….and so like me too.]
