Great idea for this week! I’d say our prices are pretty similar in Southeast Texas. Happy TT!
Except for the price of milk, everything else on your list is cheaper than it is here. Happy TT.
Recession is what is happening. We filled our boat with gas last Sunday and it was $4.45 a gallon. It cost us $550.00 to fill our boat with gas. Everything in California is expensive. I like how you did this. Very informative. Have a great TT.
$2.99 for a gallon of gas? I would gladly pay that. It’s $3.40 here!
Happy TT!
This is some information! Gas in this part of Connecticut is $3.29, down 4 cents from two days ago. Go figure. I’m grateful I can still afford a drink of water!
Interesting similarities and differences. Here in NC, gas is “down” to $2.98, but milk continues to be outrageous, at as much as $5.39/gallon! Our housing prices are much higher, but still lower than metro. areas like DC or LA or NY. Great idea for a list…Happy TT!
Your gas is about a dime cheaper than it is in Alachua county, Florida. I don’t know about anyof the rest.
Everything is more expensive here on the west coast of Florida. Wow! Especially the housing.
Happy TT!
Should I say this here? Holy Crap!!!! I can’t fathom $9.99 for a pound of deli meat!!! That’s absurd. I could buy a whole cow for that. LOL —almost!!!
Your eggs are cheaper than here. Rest of them are just about identical. Ridiculous. I heard on the news last night that when Bush took office in 2000 a barrel of oil was $20.00….yes, twenty!!!!
My T-13 is posted. Won’t you join me?
Well that was interesting. The cost of housing here is outrageous (so. California)
I guess inflation can be found everywhere these days… I don’t even want to start about how bad it is here!
(
Some of these look a little high to me, but then I’m a stock-up-and-save gal. (Today I found the same 6-pack of Coke for $2.99 so I bought 2.) But gas it killer here in the Chicagoland area. The data at the end of your shopping list was fascinating. We’ve got a problem here with the housing. So many apartment buildings were converted to condos. Now the housing market has gone bust and they stand empty, while there’s no affordable rental properties anymore. It’s a mess. I don’t know how these things are decided, but this sure feels like a recession.
It’s definitely more expensive here. Is it a recession or what? I don’t know. All I know is that those people I see who leave their cars running are part of the gas price problem!
Happy TT!
Geez! $9.99 for deli meat? and I thought $5-6.00 was outrageous. I stopped at Walmart on my way home from work tonight and all I purchased was a cube of Mt. Dew and one gallon of milk - $12.85 This is definitely Inflation with a capital I. Nice idea for a TT
Where do you get eggs for $1!!?? They are really expensive here. I read in the paper they expect gas to get up to $4/gallon. It’s not such a big deal for us as we don’t drive a lot but still. And heat? We used 30% less gas and electric last month than last year and paid $60 more. It’s unbelievable.
Happy TT!
NOT what I wanted to see. I just spent 400 at the grocery store. LOL!
Happy TT!
My Thursday Thirteen: Favorite American Idols
Sounds about the same as Ruidoso.
I just bought 2 bags of Purina kitten chow, some paper napkins, soda, 2 magazines, loaf of bread, pretzels, and a couple other things today - $49.00!
It looks like prices are up everywhere.
I have a hard time reminding myself that it is still cheaper to eat at home than to eat out!
Great list - now triple/quadruple them all for oganics! (I too posted a TT - come by if you have time!)
Our prices here in Middle Tennessee are approximately the same as your’s with some exceptions. Large eggs are about $2.00 a dozen. Just kills me to have to pay that for a dozen of eggs.
Oscar Meyer bacon is about $5.00 a pound.
Gasoline and other things about the same here.
Well, gas is cheaper for you! We’ve been well over 3 dollars for quite some time now.
Very interesting TT!
I am from FL, Orlando area and now live in La Porte Cty, IN. Things are much cheaper for the most part. Rent for sure. Milk, my mom tells me, in FL is $4+ a gallon. Is that not completely insane?
I have mine up if you would like to stop by.
Happy TT everyone!
Hey, Brown County! I’m in Muncie.
