We were told to feed our cat Fancy Feast when he got sick but he is now on special food and the other cats can't eat it. Here in the UK the elderly receive sort of a xmas bonus with their state pension which is to be used for heating, but a while ago, there were adverts on TV encouraging neighbours to check on any elderly local residents, as some of them were freezing to death because they were too worried about money to turn on the heating. In our local Borders bookshop they have a gift tree which has the name and age of a local child in care who you can buy a book for. That's what we usually end up doing. I think it's so important to think of others less fortunate than ourselves at xmas, and it's a vital thing to teach our children. Great TT! What lovely, thoughtful suggestions.
