Leaves
Hard to believe it is Monday again. The time has finally arrived…LEAVES, LEAVES, and lots more LEAVES! After all the wind and rain I have a yard full. Yesterday was a beautiful day, but still too wet to deal with the leaves. Today is another story. By noon it should be dry enough to begin. Now this is a huge job. Sweetie is almost always here to start. Not this year. We have about 2 acres cleared so I will be raking the whole 2 acres. The lawn tractor is on the fritz(I think it knows about the leaves) This job will probably take me several days. Then no doubt, I will get to do it again! I know I could wait until they all come down and do it all at once but, have you ever tried to deal with a 2 foot layer of leaves? I love living in the woods even when the leaves come down. It is a small price to pay for the beauty I am able to enjoy. Yesterday I watched two deer from the living room window, as they scoured the hillside eating acorns. I have a suet feeder on the side of a huge oak tree just outside the same window. What an awesome sight ,to watch the woodpeckers get their bellys full. We have a flock of wild turkey, eleven of them, who come almost every afternoon to scratch whatever might be left in the vegatable garden. Yes, it is truely a blessing to live where I live. I am so thankful to be here. There was a big frost last night, everywhere but here. The temperature was 33 this morning and I still have impatience blooming! So many trees…we never get a frost until the last leaves fall. What an absolute blessing to be able to enjoy the flower gardens into November. How about you? Are the leaves down where you live? What do you do with them?

I’m thankful I live in a apartment! I had my share of leaves when I lived in the country. I sure miss the beauty of God’s great colors of the fall leaves .I guess GOD knows I’m to old to rake them. I’m grateful for that too. Have a great day.
