Dinner with a pirate and his frog
I had dinner last night with a pirate and a frog! I went along
with the children and the grandchildren
to Isaac’s first school party. It was a rainy damp cool evening,
just the way I remember halloween from my
childhood. All the activities were moved
indoors because of it. They had games for the
children down every hallway and in some of the rooms.
The cafeteria was set for the chili supper.
It was amazing to see all the children dressed up.
There is something about a small town. Every school or church activity brings out
the whole community. Everybody knows everybody else. The children are all involved
in the same school, the churches do things together,
there is a real sense of community. I am so thankful today for our rural community.
We may not all be as sophisticated as the city folk but our good old fashioned
sense of family and community make it a wonderful place to raise children!……..Life IS Good

I grew up in a very small town in Oklahoma. I know exactly what you mean about community involvement. Our town always had a AWESOME fall festival. And we also had a fantastic Pioneer Day a few weeks before school started that started EARLY in the morning 6 am and went until around 1 or 2 am the next morning…..I miss that. The town I grew up in was only 500 people. The town I live in now 132,000 so a big difference.
I bet you are a awesome mom and grandma!
Thanks for Asking about David. So far so good, but let me tell ya, I am a nervous wreck.
I have given over to God, because in all reality he has all the power. But I am a mommy so I worry. There was been 3 documented cases of MRSA in my kids school this last week. So it has been about 2 days without any antibiotics and so far so good. It is mading wondering if the boils are going to come back or not. Thank you so much for keeping David in your prayers. It means a lot to me.
Have a wonderful day!
