Reflections on Gratitude
Today I want to reflect on Gratitude in my own life. A couple of girlfriends and I started writing down every day what we were thankful for and emailing it to each other. That was six months ago! I am looking at the commitment we made and how it has changed my life. It has not been easy to come up with something different everyday but I am keeping on. I think sharing our “greatfulness” really helped us get closer and become our own little group. If someone wasn’t sending their thankful email the others would drop a note to say Miss You. We decided it would be fun to involve others, so I began work on a website… Greatfullivin
Boy, that took awhile. It was my first attempt at a website. I have to say it taught me a lot about Gratitude. Researching what and how I wanted to convey my thoughts. I knew I wanted to have an interactive journal but, I was not sure how to do that. I tried movable type but soon realized I was in over my head. I have learned so much! I finally got everthing worked out and published at the end of June.
I am truely amazed at how far this has taken my attitude. Thinking of things to be grateful for has changed the way I think! There is a lot less poor me going on in my life. I still have trials and tribulation but I also have a deep commitment to finding things to be thankful about. I am thankful for all of you! Reading what others are grateful for does help you to reflect on your own life and find things to be thankful for. This journey toward Gratitude everyday in every way has helped me to see the good things, things that are sometimes hidden, unless you are looking for them. It has helped me to study my Bible more. Always looking for the spiritual side of Gratitude. I don’t think, I don’t know for sure, But I don’t think, you can have salvation without having some sort of Gratitude. How can you believe that Christ took Your place and not be Thankful? Gratitude has helped me when I am feeling disagreeable. It is hard to be disagreeable and thankful at the same time. I am Thankful today for this journey…I am not sure where it is taking me…but, I know I am in a much better place because of it!……..Life Is Good!

Hello, I agree that some days it is hard to be thankful, but taking the time in pray some good thought comes to mind and happy am I. Alse, thank you for the comments you made when I asked about help to make my site better for others to see. Keep up the good work.
Yes it has been a journey. I too am thankful for our group. I do not always write something but I almost always read the journal each day. I wasn’t going to comment on it, but I have to say the green and black new page is a little hard to read. I guess it hurts my old eyes too.
Today I am thankful for an end to a very busy and productive week. Between ballgames for grandkids, work, taking care of dad, and Dr. Phil homework, it is a very full week. I find I look forward to Friday night and Sundays. I just realized today that I have enough underwear to last a full two weeks without doing the laundry. Granted some are pretty old, but hey, they serve the purpose in a pinch. Good thing I wasn’t in an accident the last two days, my mother would have been ashamed if I had been taken to the hospital wearing underwear with stretched elastic and pin holes!
I will be doing laundry all weekend to get caught up, but I am truely gratefull to have a washer and dryer. I was talking to a lady at work today that takes her laundry to a laundromat. I remember those days!
I love visiting your site when I have had a bad day. You cheer me up! Thanks, for helping me to focus on the things I am so greatful for. Today I am greatful for my mom’s rekindeled relationship with her boyfriend from when she was 16. She needs this in her life. She needs to love again and to be loved again. I am happy for her being “giddy”.
Amanda I am so happy to be able to cheer you up! I am also so excited for your mom! My own mother rekindled a frienship with a fellow she grew up with. They are both in their mid 70’s and seperated by a few states but they enjoy visiting on the phone every day. I will add your mother and friend to my prayer list. It is so amazing to watch our Lord work out all the details! …Cricket, I just found your comment, it went in the SPAM folder, I can’t figure it out…did you put it there ?? LOL I am still cracking up about your underwear…;o} LOL LOL LOL!
