Motherhood

Today I am Thankful for Motherhood. With all of its joy and sometimes, sorrow there is no finer position to hold. Our friends recently took their eldest son to the University of Minnesota where he will continue his studies in pursuit of his Masters Degree. While it is surely a joy to see your son do so well I know the sorrow of leaving him in another state to fend for himself. It is so hard to let go of our children. We always want better for them and are pleased and proud when they pursue and achieve. Still, there is always that little part of us that remembers them as little children. We ask ourselves…did I remember to tell them to do this or do that. The whole time they struggle for their independance. We know they need us but they pretend they don’t. I wonder what the parents of soldiers think, when they send them off to war? I bet they think of a million things they wished they had told them. I wonder what God thought when he sent his Son to the earth? I wonder how hard that was. Knowing humans would crucify Him. I think God was able to rest in knowing His Son would be coming back, that He would see Him again. I think we have the same promise. We will see our children again. We can all rest in that. The sacrafices we make as mothers often go unnoticed by our children. Our reward is their well being. Life Is Good!!

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.

Childern step on your toe’s when they are little; when they grow up they step on your heart. But life is good.
I am thankful today for air conditioning! It has been 90 and above for several days with 4 or 5 more to come. I normally do not care for air conditioning but today I am very thankful for the technology.
